Kaija Aarikka designed the Ram in 1973. Since then, the Ram has grown into a family of versatile products, all of which captivate the eye with their elegance, round forms, and independent attitude. Now, the iconic symbol of perseverance encounters its new forms.

Honoured by Design

The Ram furniture represents uncompromising craftsmanship and perfectly balanced details that together embody aesthetic functionality. Designed by Roosa Ryhänen known for her unique works in the intersection of functionality and art, the items of Ram furniture are future design classics—exactly like the iconic Ram.

The story of the Ram chair began at Aarikka’s Leikki ei lopu design contest in 2024, where it received a unanimous honourable mention by the jury. The designer, Roosa Ryhänen, certainly wanted Aarikka’s Ram to form the basis for the product. Ryhänen also designed an elegant side table to accompany the chair.

"I knew that Aarikka’s Ram should serve as the starting point and that I would find the right elements in it to develop the idea. Especially the horns of the Ram caught my interest and finally remained significantly remarkable elements in the chair’s design."
